Roya Olympic Day 2026: A Spectacular Sports Extravaganza!

What a day to remember! πŸ—“οΈ It was one of the most exciting event of the year at Royat Al-Ebtikar International School, the best international school in Jeddah. Primary age students demonstrated cooperation, teamwork and sportsmanship in a friendly competition. It was an action-packed afternoon of fun and fitness at our Roya Olympic Day "Sports Day!


On February 14, 2026, all students from early year to year 5 joined in the fun while parents helped them complete the challenges and everyone cheered from the sidelines. And, as a special surprise, the school had a guest star there to encourage the students Fábio Henrique Tavares, the midfield maestro better known as Fabinho of Al‐Ittihad FC!

✨ The Grand Opening Ceremony

We kicked things off in style! The excitement began with:


  1. The National Anthem (everyone sang their hearts out!) 🎡
  2. An inspiring Welcome Speech 🎀
  3. A Spectacular Parade that got everyone pumped up! 🚢‍β™‚οΈπŸšΆ‍♀️


It was absolutely magical! 🌟

πŸƒ‍♂️ The Main Events: 6 Thrilling Games!


  1. Mattress Transfer Game πŸ›οΈ
    Two teams, two mattresses each! They stood on one, threw the other forward, and shuffled their way to the finish line – quick feet won the race!


  2. Leg-Tying Race πŸ¦΅
    Six players, legs tied together – teams had to keep their balance and move as one to cross the finish line. Teamwork made the dream work!


  3. Chair Movement Game πŸͺ‘
    Players sat on movable chairs and used their feet to scoot their way to victory – it was harder than it looked! πŸ˜…

  4. Hockey Game πŸ’
    Everyone grabbed a stick, aimed for the goal, and shot! Each player took a turn to score – may the best team win!

  5. Sack Race πŸ¦˜
    They hopped, jumped, and bounced their way to the finish line inside those giant sacks – pure classic fun!

  6. Running & Collecting Objects πŸƒ‍♂️
    Players dashed from the start, grabbed those markers, sprinted back, and stacked them on the cone – speed and precision were key!

πŸ† Scoring & Winning!

  • 6 Games 🎯
  • 5 Points per game
  • Total Possible Score 30 points! 🌟


The team that performed the games correctly, with parental assistance (yes, mums and dads joined in!), and scored the highest number of points were crowned the CHAMPIONS and took home the TROPHY! πŸ†πŸŽ‰

Students from the youngest three years started playing on the football field while the oldest group of students competed on the basketball court. Each area had three games set up. ⚽ πŸ€ When they finished the games in their area, they switched so all the teams got a turn playing each game. πŸ”„

πŸ… The Grand Finale Matches!

The highlight of the day may have been the parents vs. students matches. Mums played girls in a competitive basketball game while dads plays boys in a friendly 30 minute long football match. πŸ‘©πŸ€πŸ‘¨βš½

πŸ“‹ The Organising Team

Our amazing teachers were assigned to organize and prepare each competition. They had all the equipment ready for an amazing team. In addition, our teachers:

  • πŸ‘©‍🏫 Look after each class
  • 🏁 Record 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places at start and finish lines
  • πŸ“Š Collect game cards and announce the winning team


Plus, we had social media announcements and dedicated cards for each game to track participation and scores! πŸ“±
