Celebrating Heritage at Saudi Founding Day
On February 13th, 2025,
Roya Al Ebtikar International School Primary and Early Year students honoured
Saudi Founding Day by learning more about Saudi’s national history. With this respect for the heritage of The Kingdom, students will be able to move forward to positively impact their communities in the future.ποΈπΈπ¦
π Honouring Saudi History π
The theme of this year’s celebration,
"Old Jeddah" provided students with a unique opportunity to connect with Saudi Arabia’s past. Through activities showcasing traditional crafts, games, and food, students were introduced to the Kingdom's cultural and historical roots, and gained a deeper understanding of their nation's heritage. ποΈπ¨ #HeritageCelebration
π A Day of Cultural Discovery π
The celebration kicked off with a parade of students and teachers dressed in national attire, proudly waving Saudi flags. This moment of joy set the tone for the day, as students engaged in a series of activities that highlighted the Kingdom’s traditions, from ancient games to handcrafted products. ππ #NationalPride

The event also featured a delicious array of
traditional Saudi dishes such as
Baleelah and
Tarams, allowing students to experience the authentic tastes of their heritage. These foods not only brought the community together but also served as a reminder of the Kingdom's rich culinary traditions. π²π« #CulturalTastes

The air rang with the Kingdom’s cultural heritage as Saudi music filled the air, with students performing on traditional instruments, including drums and pianos. A special
Hikawati segment added a magical touch, where a storyteller captivated the audience with ancient tales of Saudi Arabia’s past. π€πΆ #CulturalLegacy

One of the highlights of the celebration was the recreation of
Old Jeddah Shops, where students exhibited handmade items like pottery, perfumes, and
Sadu weaving. This was a beautiful way to show how traditional craftsmanship continues to play a vital role in Saudi culture. πΊπΏ #Craftsmanship #Tradition

The event concluded with an inspiring speech from the school leader, highlighting the importance of such celebrations in strengthening students' sense of belonging, deepening their connection to Saudi Arabia’s history and helping shape the future. Students who wore the best traditional attire were recognised for their pride and participation. ππ
